Wednesday, 02 February 2022
The SFP Board announces the departure of the SFP Director, Anca Toma, after 4 years in this position and 10 in the organisation, to take up a new professional challenge at the end of February 2022.
In the past decade, Anca supported SFP’s policy advocacy campaigns for the revision of the EU Tobacco Products Directive (2014), its advocacy for the implementation of the EU TPD, of the adoption of the EU tracking and tracing system, for exposing and rejecting tobacco industry interference in policy making, and she oversaw the SFP’s work across all areas of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
SFP President Birgit Beger said: “The SFP Board is grateful to Anca for her service to SFP and for having built a solid basis for the organisation’s future. She brought energy and commitment to her work and built a dedicated, agile team; she helped grow our European Coalition to where it is today and helped establish SFP firmly as the leading tobacco control advocacy organisation in Europe. We wish her every success in her future professional endeavours.”
SFP has launched an open recruitment process for the Director position which is published on our website at https://www.smokefreepartnership.eu/news/we-are-recruiting . In the immediate future, Anca will transfer her responsibilities to the SFP team with support from the SFP Board.
