Brussels, 22 May: SFP supported a letter co-signed by over 125 organisations calling on social media companies to end tobacco advertising, especially via paid influencers.
The letter has a threefold focus and is aimed at social media companies, underlining the importance of enforcing existing policies prohibiting paid advertisement of tobacco products, extending the prohibition in order for it to include paid influencers posts and campaigns, and expanding the policies to cover tobacco products and e-cigarettes alike.
The full letter can be found here.
For more information, a press release on the letter has been published by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids here.
