SFP Coalition partners express concern on plain packaging in the Czech Republic
Thursday, 22 August 2019
Brussels, 22 August: SFP, together with a number of its Coalition partners expressed concern regarding the aggressive lobbying of the tobacco industry against plain packaging in the Czech Republic.
The letter, sent to the Czech Minister of Agriculture, addresses some misconceptions and concerns raised by the tobacco industry in the Czech Republic in order to prevent the introduction of tobacco control measures such as plain standardised packaging. As experience in other European countries shows, tobacco manufacturers put enormous resources in trying to block, delay or weaken this policy measure.
