In July 2007 the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control will meet to consider guidelines on the implementation of their obligations under Article 8 of the Convention, to provide protection against secondhand smoke. These guidelines should serve as best practices for countries in the implementation of their smokefree laws.

In the lead up to the COP, the Global Smokefree Partnership is launching a Global Voices Campaign to gain and secure support from countries for strong and effective Article 8 Guidelines. Please join the Global Voices Campaign by adding your Voice and supporting the Campaigns’ Principles. Signatures will be presented to delegates at the COP meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.
